Due to the nature of the damage, the tooth had to be extracted directly and replaced with a dental implant through a procedure known as immediate loading.

Sports and Health! #ThinkingPerio

Summer is that time of year when the good weather allows us to do many of the activities that we are unable to do in winter, such as outdoor activities, practicing that new sport on the beach, surfing, windsurfing, perhaps even kite surfing. These types of activities can bring about certain accidents and small inconveniencies such as the one experienced by the patient that we are going to treat today.

What´s the situation?

The patient has suffered trauma to his upper incisor, creating a vertical fracture. Regrettably the tooth has a poor prognosis, making it impossible to develop a periapical focal point.

What´s the treatment?

Since the patient is currently missing one of his front teeth, we are going to replace it with a dental implant using a technique known as Immediate loading, in which we will not only replace the missing piece, but also fix a provisional one in place over the dental implant to allow the patient to continue enjoying his vacation.

Enjoy your summer, and with precaution!
