For yet another year, the charity cocktail to raise funds for the global humanitarian relief organisation Smile is a Foundation was held last Thursday, of which Ortiz-Vigón Clinic and PerioCentrum are founding partners and through which they make possible their solidarity project. The amount collected in the event is entirely destined for the projects of the NGO, which will face its eighth campaign in situ in Zimbabwe.
Diverse contributions and activities
As in the previous years, several activities were organized to raise funds between the attendants who approached to Fuentelarreyna 14 (Madrid) to enjoy the cocktail. The participants collaborated by purchasing merchandising products such as t-shirts and glasses of the foundation.
In addition, a raffle and an auction with products and services donated by businesses and private individuals were organized. PerioCentrum group took part in the raffle contributing to the solidarity project a voucher valued at 150 euros to go to The Lion King musical show.
On the PerioCentrum’s doctors side, doctors Fabio Vignoletti (Madrid and Verona), Alfonso Oteo (Segovia), Ramón Lorenzo (Avila and Madrid) and Daniel Rodrigo (Guadalajara) attended the event together with Dr. Sergio Morante (Guadalajara) who was the catalyst of the auction as a member of the patronage. The president of Smile is Foundation, Diego Romero, dedicated a few words of gratefulness to all the attendees and especially to the organization of the event for making it possible.

Forward-looking projects
It was a great evening that for sure will help Smile is a Foundation to continue with its solidarity project. In fact, as doctor Alberto Ortiz-Vigón (director at Ortiz-Vigón Clinic – PerioCentrum Bilbao) mentioned some days ago in the ThinkingPerio magazine, the organisation plans to broaden the scope of the activities.
While in Zimbabwe is intended “to continue with the prevention project in the schools and involving local professionals in order to be sustainable and alligned with the World Health Organization’s (WHO) goals”, in Spain “it will be launched a program to treat patients with no means of support to enable the access to a basic assistance that social security does not cover because it only includes dental extractions”.
So once again, therefore, we would like to thank all who attended the event for their company and commitment to Smile is a Foundation and for helping us reaching the most vulnerables with healthcare assistance
